December fun!!

We sure have been busy these past few weeks.  We have been playing Wii....
Rod playing the flying bird game...we laughed so hard we cried!

Maggie on the Segway
We managed to get 8 people in the rig one night playing Wii.  We laughed until our sides hurt!

We celebrated Cliff's birthday with a surprise party...and boy was he surprised!
The crew getting ready to surprise Cliff

Fun times at the clubhouse

Happy Birthday Cliff!
We had a cookie exchange!

We went to the lighted boat parade in town....we had quite a crowd from the park....
All bundled up and waiting for the boat parade

Me, Dan, Deb and Dave
So pretty!

There were a few fireworks too but I didn't get a picture of those.  They opened up the parade to kayakers this year and there was some talk about us joining in but we all chickened out.  It was at dusk, low tide, and with a very brisk wind (at least for us with Florida blood!).  Plus, there were airboats.  Something about airboats and kayaks didn't sit well with us!

We have also been geocaching.  Five of us went out recently (Vel, Maggie, Shelly and Bob) and spent the day in Inglis hunting for geocaches.  I found this little guy that is a travel bug that started his journey in Australia....
Little Digby
Long story short, he was released as a travel bug in 2007.  For the past 6 1/2 years, he has been missing...seems he made it to the US and then his travels stopped.  There was no clue as to where he has been all this time.  His owners contacted me thru geocaching.com and were so surprised (and excited!) to see that we had picked him up.   We will get him moving along again the next time we are out geocaching. His goal is to make it back to Michigan.

We've also been riding bikes, playing cards, and "piddling".  I have a feeling it's going to be a very busy winter!

  3. Yes you have been busy having fun! The boat parade sounds nice but I think it was best to leave the kayak out of it. Merry Christmas!
